Marketing Intern
Position: Marketing & Graphic Design Intern – Digital Outreach, Social Media, and Community Engagement
Hours per week: 10–20 hours
Term: 3–6 months (with potential for extension)
Location: Remote
Compensation: Unpaid, part-time (college credit eligible if applicable)
About Us
SurvivingBreastCancer.org is a national nonprofit and digital health organization dedicated to supporting individuals affected by breast cancer through education, community, and compassion. We provide free virtual support groups, expressive arts programming, wellness workshops, and culturally responsive survivorship resources—all grounded in accessibility and care.
As we continue to grow, we're seeking a Marketing Intern to help us expand our reach, boost engagement, and increase awareness of our programs and impact.
Position Summary
This is a dynamic, hands-on internship ideal for someone who’s passionate about nonprofit marketing, women’s health, and digital communications. You’ll wear many hats—from social media content creation and graphic design to community engagement across social media platforms. Your work will help elevate our brand and bring critical programs to more people affected by breast cancer.
What You’ll Do
🔹 Digital Marketing & Social Media
Manage and grow SurvivingBreastCancer.org’s presence across platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, X, Threads, etc.)
Create compelling, on-brand graphics and written content using Canva or similar tools
Draft and schedule posts, monitor engagement, and respond to comments and messages
Track social media metrics and help report on performance trends
🔹 Marketing & Brand Strategy
Support campaigns to increase newsletter subscribers, program RSVPs, and podcast listenership
Assist in updating website content and SEO optimization strategies
Help organize email marketing and outreach campaigns
🔹 Community Engagement & Partnerships
Assist in outreach to hospitals, oncology nurse navigators, and cancer centers to promote SBC programs
Create and send program flyers and materials to clinical partners
Research potential collaborations with organizations in the breast cancer and health equity space
What You Bring
A passion for nonprofit marketing, healthcare, or women’s advocacy
Excellent writing and communication skills
Experience with social media platforms and content planning tools (e.g., Canva)
Experience with digital marketing, email campaigns, or graphic design is a plus
Highly organized, self-starter
Highly proactive and detail-oriented
Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Creative and curious about storytelling, outreach, and impact
