Intramural Sports Official, Recreation

Position Type: Federal Work Study Only

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Intramural Officials are responsible for officiating intramural sports and special events hosted by University Recreation. Officials ensure fair play, maintain safety, and enforce policies, procedures, and rules while fostering a positive and engaging experience for participants.
 

Responsibilities:

• Set up and break down the facility for intramural events.
• Manage rosters, score sheets, and player sign-ins while verifying eligibility.
• Serve as a resource for participants during contests.
• Maintain control, fairness, and safety throughout events.
• Attend mandatory training and meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• Previous experience or knowledge of sports rules, policies, and procedures.
• Strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
• A genuine interest in serving students and fostering a positive experience. Available to work afternoons, evenings, and some weekends.
• Thorough understanding of officiating sports.

Physical Requirements:

• Able and willing to run.

Anticipated Schedule:

Training for Soccer League

Saturday September 6th - 10a - 1p
 

Soccer League

Thursdays 5-8pm -  9/11 thru 10/2 
 

Training for Football Tournament

Saturday, October 11th 10am-1pm
 

7v7 Flag Football

Tuesday 10/14 and Thursday 10/16 8pm-11pm
 

6v6 Volleyball League

Mondays 5-9pm - October 27th - Nov 17th

3v3 Basketball Tournament

Wednesday, November 11th 5-9pm
