Position Type: Federal Work Study And Non Work Study

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

• Promote URec programs, fitness classes, and intramural sports to both students and staff.
• Share flyers, event details, and sign-up information through student groups, bulletin boards, and department emails.
• Encourage staff and students to join monthly fitness challenges and register for URec events.
• Help organize or promote group attendance at main campus events like RecFest or De-Stress Fest.
• Coordinate with Dental School leadership to offer wellness initiatives, such as pop-up fitness classes or lunch-hour events.
• Represent the Dental Campus in URec planning conversations and provide feedback on engagement strategies.
• Assist with URec tabling or events on the Dental Campus when applicable.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• Current dental student at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Passionate about wellness, health, and student/staff engagement.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Willingness to occasionally travel to the main campus for events or meetings.
• Comfortable promoting events in person and digitally (email, GroupMe, bulletin boards, etc.)
