Operations Improvement Intern

Overview:
Index Fresh is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented student to support a key operations improvement project. This internship offers the opportunity to work closely with our operations team to analyze processes, identify inefficiencies, and help implement solutions that enhance productivity and workflow in our facility.
This is a project-based internship, ideal for students who want to apply their academic knowledge to a real-world challenge and gain meaningful experience in operational improvement within the fresh produce industry.

 

Project Focus & Responsibilities:
Work on a dedicated project aimed at improving material flow, storage efficiency, and/or production line performance
Analyze production data, headcount trends, and shrink metrics to identify areas for optimization
Collaborate with team members to map current processes and propose actionable changes
Participate in production meetings and gather input from cross-functional teams
Assist with the development of documentation, SOPs, and improvement reports
Present findings and recommendations at the end of the internship

 

Qualifications:
Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Operations, Industrial Engineering, Business, Supply Chain)
Junior or Senior standing with a minimum 3.0 GPA
Completed or enrolled in core coursework relevant to operations or process improvement
Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with data analysis or process mapping is a plus
Strong communication and presentation skills
Analytical thinker with strong attention to detail
Self-motivated, collaborative, and eager to learn
