We Are:Commonwealth Corporation (CommCorp) is a quasi-public workforce development agency that strengthens the skills of Massachusetts youth, incumbent and unemployed/underemployed adult workers, and justice-involved individuals.  CommCorp invests in and administers seven diverse workforce development programs and builds innovative partnerships with industry, education, and workforce organizations. 

 

Position Title:  Marketing and Communications Intern (Remote) 

Reports To:  Associate Director of Marketing and Communication 

Level -Internship 

Compensation:  Total compensation for the internship is $4,650.00 spread over bi-weekly payments 

Schedule -20 hours per week M-F (August 25 – November 14, 2025) 

 

 

Position Overview 

 

Commonwealth Corporation is seeking a dynamic and energetic Marketing & Communications Intern who is eager to learn and contribute across various departments. As an intern, you will work closely with our marketing and communications team to conduct research, capture data, write copy, create marketing materials, and organize and attend meetings. 

This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of marketing within a respected community-based organization. You will be involved in both current campaigns and upcoming projects, providing valuable support to our team. 

Example Projects Include: Planning, writing, and managing content such as success stories, blog posts, and social media updates; managing marketing campaigns; and assisting in the organization of press events and more. 

 

Intern Responsibilities  

 

  • Analyze data and report on the performance of marketing campaigns.
  • Create and edit content for various channels, including newsletters, blog posts, and press releases.
  • Design collateral, graphics, annual reports, e-invites, and other marketing material for marketing campaigns by CommCorp
  • Assist in coordinating and promoting events, both virtual and in-person.
  • Assist with daily administrative duties.
  • Update the CommCorp website when needed,
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders including state agencies, partners and grantees.
  • Collaborate with CommCorp staff and fellow intern on new ideas, directions, and venues for marketing.
  • Ensure all marketing materials adhere to CommCorp’s brand guidelines.
  • Host, organize, and attend meetings with various teams and stakeholders including preparing agenda, designing PowerPoint Slides, and taking minutes.
  • Monitor social media platforms for trending news, ideas, and feedback.
  • Prepare detailed promotional presentations.
  • Support email marketing campaigns, including drafting and scheduling emails.
  • Working closely with the coordinator of the internship program responsibilities may include supporting the organization of the internship cohort and planning for future cohorts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the team and projects.

Qualifications 

  • College students or recent graduates, preferably those studying or having completed a degree in Journalism, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • This internship program is also open to individuals in career transitions and/or exploring career opportunities.
  • Must have a genuine passion for marketing.
  • Avid writer, with a passion for storytelling and content creation, with a proven track record to produce clear, engaging, and high-quality written content promptly and consistently under tight deadlines.
  • Eagerness to learn and collaborate with various departments within the organization.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in project scope and direction, thriving in a fast-paced environment that requires multitasking and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Careful attention to detail in all tasks, including proofreading and content creation.
  • Ability to think creatively and bring new ideas to marketing campaigns.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with marketing software, including Canva, CRMs, web content management systems and social media platforms.
  • Good understanding of current marketing trends and techniques.
  • Ability to maintain strong communication with supervisors, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
  • Willingness to accept feedback and revise work as needed.

Must reside in Massachusetts (MA) for the duration of the internship
