Internship Opportunity: Capacity Team Intern
Location: Remote (with opportunities for in-person meetings/training in the Raleigh-Durham area)
Unpaid | 10-20 hours/week
About Us:
The North Carolina Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCCADV) is dedicated to supporting and enhancing the well-being of individuals affected by domestic violence.
Position Overview:
Under the supervision of the Director of Campus Services & Mental Health Advocacy, we are seeking an intern for the Fall and Spring semester. The capacity team at NCCADV is comprised of three directors who oversee training, technical assistance, campus programming and mental health programming. This internship offers valuable hands-on experience in the nonprofit sector, with a focus on mental health advocacy, campus outreach, and resource development. The role will be mainly remote, with occasional in-person opportunities for meetings and training experiences in the Raleigh-Durham area.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Directors in updating resources and mailing list.
- Develop quick guides and tri-fold brochures on topics such as human trafficking, domestic violence, and mental health.
- Assist with outreach to mental health professionals, fostering connections and supporting the development of collaborative partnerships.
- Help create and design promotional materials using tools like Canva.
- Contribute to the creation of online resources using platforms such as Squarespace and Google tools.
- Stay informed on mental health issues affecting survivors of domestic violence and assist with content creation related to these topics.
- Communicate with campus staff to foster collaboration and share relevant resources.
Qualifications:
- Interest in mental health, wellness, and violence prevention.
- Knowledge of mental health resources and services, including experience or interest in supporting mental health professionals.
- Proficiency with Canva and Squarespace.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and campus staff.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple tasks in a remote environment.
- Passionate about victim advocacy.
Preferred Skills:
- Interest in pursuing a career in mental health, non-profit work, or public health.
