Real Estate and Corporate Paralegal
A Real Estate Paralegal with a strong interest in Midwest real estate and affordable housing initiatives is needed to support the legal team. The role focuses on projects aligning with the mission of promoting fair and equitable access to housing in Midwest communities.
Duties and responsibilities
- Assist attorneys in the preparation, review, and negotiation of real estate documents.
- Assist with due diligence on commercial real estate transactions
- Manage commercial real estate closings for diverse transactions, including retail, medical, and industrial properties
- Obtain signatures from stakeholders on closings and prepare signature packages
- Organize and maintain transaction files for projects
- Communicate with the team and stakeholders to facilitate transactions
- Draft legal documents such as deeds, organizational documents for LLCs, and completing forms for letters of intent.
- Problem solving and taking initiative to form processes and systems
- Willingness to use AI to improve efficiency and outcomes
- Assist with other administrative tasks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field, or an associate degree with a paralegal certificate.
- Proven experience as a Real Estate Paralegal, Corporate Paralegal or in a similar role.
- Knowledge of real estate proceedings and terminology, with emphasis on Midwest real estate laws and affordable housing regulations.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in legal software and real estate transaction management platforms.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to promoting equity and inclusion within the real estate sector in Midwest communities.
- Understanding of Midwest real estate market trends and the need for affordable housing solutions.
