Development Associate
Protecting the Golden State’s working rangelands for generations to come is a monumental goal. Playing a key role in accomplishing that goal can be a personal gratifying achievement for many people. Now there is an opportunity to play that role and feel the pride of knowing you helped permanently conserve thousands of acres of valuable rangelands throughout California.
At the California Rangeland Trust, we work with California ranching families and future generations to preserve our Golden State’s rangeland, air and water quality, wildlife habitat, and local food supplies. The Rangeland Trust is a non-profit organization founded by a group of innovative cattlemen and cattlewomen in 1998, to conserve the open space, natural habitat and stewardship provided by California’s ranches. We are pleased to have helped permanently protect over 420,000 acres of privately-owned rangeland.
The Fund Development & Outreach staff is comprised of eight members working collectively to advance our mission by raising awareness and securing financial resources from private entities. We are seeking a Development Associate to help ground our work in reliable data-driven strategies.
The Development Associate provides effective operations support for all fundraising and donor management activities including, but not limited to, donor records, data mining, gift processing and reports, prospect research, events, and volunteer coordination. This support provides critical background for advancing our donor stewardship and engagement strategies, and we will look to this person to help us use the data to enhance our activities and planning.
Although this position provides critical internal support, they should also be experienced and adept at engaging (written and verbally) with donors and key external stakeholders. As the organization is about to undergo a tech suite overhaul, this person will be key in helping with a smooth transition while setting the Rangeland Trust up for strategic growth. This is an ideal position for a self-motivated, data-oriented, and curious individual.
