Junior Staff Accountant Intern
Position Overview
As a Junior Staff Accountant Intern, you will support our accounting team with day-to-day operations including data entry, reconciliations, expense tracking, and general ledger tasks. This internship is a hands-on opportunity to gain real-world accounting experience in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
Maintain and update financial records and spreadsheets.
Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings.
Help prepare and organize documentation for audits and internal reviews.
Reconcile bank and credit card statements.
Perform data entry of journal entries and financial data.
Assist with payroll and tax reporting tasks as needed.
Support other ad-hoc accounting projects as directed.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures governing accounts receivable activities.
Identify and recommend improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounts receivable process.
Respond promptly and professionally to client inquiries regarding billing and payment issues.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
Proven experience in accounts receivable or a similar financial role.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Knowledge of relevant ERP systems and accounting software.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and accounts receivable processes.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to provide outstanding customer service and resolve issues professionally.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Ability to meet deadlines and perform well under pressure.
