Education and Community Intern
MUSE/IQUE seeks an Education and Community Intern to participate in cultivating current and new community/educational partnerships, as well as developing in-person and online/zoom programming for the workshops with which we serve these communities. Working closely on this development and outreach with the Education and Community Programs Associate, the intern will also aid in developing MUSE/IQUE’s caused-based and venue-based outreach partnerships. With the Education and Community Engagement team, the intern will research and cultivate possible new partners for MUSE/IQUE’s workshops and other community activities, as well as assist with deepening reach and service with current community partners, with an eye to accessibility, diversity and inclusion. The position will work 15-20 hrs/wk week June- November, with flexibility available for the right candidate.
MUSE/IQUE is seeking a driven, reliable, self-starting intern with honesty, integrity, and curiosity. Above all, the intern must have a deep desire to learn and a strong sense of initiative. Successful candidates are punctual and conduct themselves respectfully and with great attention to detail, work well under pressure, and are proactive in problem-solving with an ability to balance multiple tasks independently and as part of a team under tight deadlines. The intern must have strong and effective written communication, organizational, and project management skills. Experience in music or the performing arts is a plus, with an active interest in education and community partnerships within local artistic communities. The intern must be available to work some evening and weekend hours at MUSE/IQUE events, and must have a reliable form of transportation and current driver’s license. Parking and mileage for business travel will be reimbursed.
