Junior Engineer

Compensation: $65k-85k annually

Job Responsibilities & Job Duties:

  • Perform field related activities including logging soils, air monitoring during investigation and remediation activities, installation of groundwater monitoring wells, collection of soil and groundwater samples for laboratory analysis, and collection of soil for physical testing. PFAS sampling experience is desirable.
  • Evaluate and compile soil, groundwater, and air analytical data, and develop soil and groundwater sampling plans.
  • Assist in the preparation of technical reports, environmental documentation, and remedial strategies in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Assist with the design of environmental remediation systems, working with Project Managers on budget and schedule as it relates to remedial investigation and action implementation.
  • Working knowledge of physical and in situ remedies, including oversight of system installations and/or in situ injections.
  • Experience with CERCLA and RCRA processes, and preparation of related documents.
  • Support of investigations, mitigation, and treatment/removal of PFAS from environmental media.
  • Travel and field work may be required on various projects in the US and internationally, with travel up to 25% of the time with field mobilizations averaging two weeks.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Candidates having passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) examination preferred.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Good problem solving skills and able to work well independently
  • Proficiency in Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Access)
  • GIS/GPS experience is a plus
  • PFAS investigation experience a plus
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

 

Education and Experience:

  • 1 to 3 years of experience preferably in environmental restoration field
  • Must have Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline; Master’s Degree is a plus.

 

Certifications:

  • 40-hr HAZWOPER trained with updated 8-hr annual refreshers preferred.
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
  • Other certifications/licenses are a plus.
