
Game Management Assistant
Game Management Assistant – Temporary, 4-6 Month Seasonal
Primary responsibilities involve assisting with:
- planning, organizing, and carrying out disease surveillance projects including wildlife necropsies,
- retrieving carcasses from the field,
- maintaining the NDGF Wildlife Health Laboratory facility and equipment,
- intake and processing of samples and carcasses,
- interacting with the public,
- organizing and submitting samples to various labs for testing,
- data entry, organization, maintenance,
- and other duties as assigned.

Notes:
Position is generally 40 hours per week, with a duration of 4-6 months (September-February). Applicants must be able to work weekends and on call duty during busy seasons. Overnight travel is also possible.

Wildlife Opportunity:

While this position is stationed in Bismarck, North Dakota, your responsibilities will allow you to explore all corners of the state including a wide range of beautiful landscapes and dynamic terrain.

Minimum Qualifications:
Requires a minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in wildlife biology or management or closely related natural resource science degree. Other 4-year science related degrees will be considered if the applicant has at least 2 years’ experience of wildlife field work. Graduating undergraduates with experience will be considered.
Must have or be able to obtain a Class D North Dakota driver’s license. Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and be willing to travel extensively. Must possess well-developed oral and written communication skills, be highly responsible, be well organized, have attention to detail, and be self-motivated. Must have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word and Excel).
