Bridging Opportunities Training Program Coordinator
My name is Lynna Bevins, and I am the Bridging Opportunities Training Program (BOTP) Coordinator for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC). I am also a Program Investigator with the Office for Civil Rights and Small Business Development, and we are the office that facilitates the BOTP internship for KYTC. I am reaching out in the hopes that this information can reach more students. I have included the criteria for acceptance below, along with the starting pay. The deadline to submit their completed application for the Fall term will be July 25, 2025. The deadline to submit their completed application for the Spring 2026 term will be January 5, 2026. We offer internship opportunities throughout spring, summer, and fall.
Criteria:
- 2.5 GPA or higher.
- Enrolled as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student during the term of internship.
- Have earned at least 30 undergraduate semester hours.
- Applicants must submit:
- Application
- Unofficial transcript
- Resume/CV
- One (1) recommendation letter written by a non-family member. (Ideally from professor, advisor, or some other professional affiliation.)
- Personal statement explaining why you applied to the BOTP and how being a traditionally underrepresented student will impact your public service.
Starting Pay:
- Undergraduate: $15.96 per hour
- Graduate: $18.54 per hour
