Student Engineer Internship

The Student Engineer program at ECS is designed to create an opportunity for engineering and technology students to experience what it is like to work and thrive in the field of Systems Integration. Students will be assigned a mentor and given opportunities to work alongside a diverse group of talented engineers and staff members. This learning environment includes performing meaningful work at ECS facilities as well as visits to actual manufacturing sites of ECS clients. 

Whether you are interested in hardware design, system configuration, or software development, the staff at ECS will create an internship that is tailored to your abilities and career aspirations. Our goal is for you to explore various career opportunities at ECS while elevating your skills and assessing your abilities towards a long-term career in the engineering fields within manufacturing industries. 

Example Project Assignments

  • Design, develop, test and implement industrial control and information systems
  • Create industrial control drawings and network diagrams using AutoCAD
  • Develop and test PLC ladder logic and Human Machine Interface (HMI) applications
  • Configure and test networks, servers, and other Industrial IT equipment
  • Design and develop Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA) solutions
  • Fabricate industrial panels including wiring, construction and testing
  • Prepare technical documentation for engineered systems

Qualifications 

  • Pursuing an engineering or technology degree in the electrical or computer fields
  • GPA of 3.3 or above in Major Coursework
  • Proven initiative to develop and expand technical knowledge and professional skills
