Fall 2025 District Congressional Internship
The Detroit District Office of Congressman Shri Thanedar (MI-13) is now accepting applications for internships during the Fall 2025 term. This internship offers a unique opportunity to serve the constituents of Michigan’s 13th District while developing professional skills in government and community outreach.
We are looking for both part-time and full-time interns. For those who are interested in being part-time, please note that preference will be given to those who can work full days at least twice a week. Both part-time and full-time interns are required to work in person.
This internship position will be compensated either through a monthly stipend or through academic credit.
Duties include but are not limited to:
• Answering phone calls
• Greeting office visitors
• Attending community events and meetings to engage with local stakeholders.
• Assisting with casework
• Conducting research on local issues to support the office’s community engagement efforts
• Staffing the Congressman
Other duties will be based on the intern's interests.
We are looking for candidates with an eagerness to learn, customer service skills, and strong writing skills. Start and end dates are flexible. District ties and the ability to work events on weekends are pluses.
