J2419245 Quality Technician Intern

Summary of Position

The Quality Technician Intern will be responsible for performing all necessary inspection tasks in order to ensure product quality prior to customer shipment. The individual must have a good understanding of manufacturing processes and quality assurance principles. This position requires a highly organized person who can multi-task while working independently or as part of a team.  

Intern Duties & Responsibilities  

  • Perform visual inspections on printed circuit assemblies (PCAs) using automated optical inspection equipment, manual inspection, and other various testing equipment 
  • Record and document all inspections performed 
  • Verify that all products meet quality standards 
  • Review nonconforming material reports with production personnel to resolve assembly issues and assist in corrective action 
  • Conduct audits of inspection records and documentation to identify trends or potential problems with products or processes 
  • Develop new inspection methods and modify existing ones as needed 
  • Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to safety policies and regulations 
  • Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications

  • Major(s): Injection Molding, Quality Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering
  • Class Year(s): Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Technical Student
  • GPA: Min 3.0
  • Availability: Must be available to work in Atlanta, GA

Skills

  • Experience with hand tools test equipment, such as multimeters and oscilloscopes 
  • Familiarity with automated optical inspection equipment and software 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, Word, and Outlook 
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and other technical documents 
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Problem solving skills 
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment 
  • Flexibility to work overtime as required, including weekends 
  • Previous experience in electronics manufacturing preferred
