This position serves as a Virtual Digital Workspace Analyst assisting in the support of Windows server computer systems in Midrange Systems Operations.

Essential Functions

  • Under immediate supervision, serves as a Virtual Digital Workspace Analyst for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT), in assisting in the support of Windows server computer systems in Midrange Systems Operations.
  • Assists senior analyst in the configuration, testing, installation, documentation and maintenance of midrange computing systems and related peripheral systems.
  • Performs installations of new server operating systems and configurations, assists with the maintenance, and server operating system patches and fix packs.
  • Works on assigned projects using various software systems including Microsoft Windows Servers, VmWare, MS Office, MS Visio, and MS Project.
  • Keeps abreast of new developments in the information technology field by continuing education through online training platforms, meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of two (2) years of college with course work in computer science or directly related fields.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Elementary knowledge of Microsoft Server systems, VmWare, Microsoft Office Automation products, and software distribution products including SMS.
  • Elementary knowledge of server functions including configuration, installation, and support of Windows Active Directory.
  • Elementary knowledge of network communication concepts and principles including server/client network configurations, routers, routing protocols, switches, firewalls, and VPN.
  • Elementary knowledge of internet, computer programming, or scripting.
