Research Assistant: Imas
Professor Alex Imas is looking for research assistance with several projects in behavioral economics and applied AI. Sample projects can be found at www.aleximas.com.
The responsibilities of the position will include data analysis (Stata, Python, R), literature reviews, designing experiments in Qualtrics and running them on online platforms such as Prolific. Familiarity with mathematical modeling and econometrics methods are required. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to collaborate with our research team on projects related to the use of technology (VR, artificial intelligence, social media) on economic outcomes, discrimination, and questions related to choice under uncertainty and belief formation. Much of the work will involve designing and running experiments, as well as analyzing the data. This work is varied and challenging, and well-suited to candidates looking to push themselves with a variety of projects that provide experience with the research process.
The successful applicant must have some background knowledge in economics and statistical methods. Experience with Stata (or R), Python, and JavaScript are required. Experience with Qualtrics and Prolific are valued, but these skills can be picked up on the job.
This position can start immediately and will last until the end of the quarter, with an option of renewal. It will require an average commitment of 10 hours per week. Standard pay for the position is between $17 and $20/hour. The position is open for remote work.
