Student Filmmakers Outreach Program

IMPORTANT: Only considering applicants who apply to external link: https://bit.ly/2025StudentFilmmakersRM

NATIONWIDE - THIS IS A REMOTE POSITION.

We’re looking for aspiring filmmakers around the country to capture stories of how the unique gifts and talents of people in your communities contribute to a greater whole.

In exchange for mentoring and a stipend, student filmmakers will learn and collaborate (individually and with teams) on a national storytelling initiative that shines a light on people who embody American ideals through everyday actions. Actions that may not make headlines, but definitely make a difference. These stories will be told through a comprehensive collection of thousands of video and photographic portraits of those who contribute. This 4 week program will be run through award-winning production company RadicalMedia.

Student Filmmakers will be tasked with finding and researching a total of 5 unique stories within the month related to topics of community, contribution, stepping up and giving back. You will be guiding and helping participants share their story in a visually compelling way.

Stipend is $250 for a minimum of 5 stories to start, with $50 per story beyond that pending approval.

Note this is NOT meant to be a full time commitment- stories can be found on your own time around the other projects/schooling you are working on, with one weekly check-in meeting (virtual).

Note: this project is intentionally apolitical. We’re seeking stories that transcend politics of any kind. Resources, training, and check in will be provided to ensure student filmmakers walk away with insight into documentary and journalism style storytelling, research, strategic outreach, user generated content and production.
