General Description: Responsible technical work involving analytical and data collection, monitoring, and forecasting to assist and promote the strategic planning of Pasco County Fire Rescue, Community Risk Reduction Bureau, and Mobile Integrated Health Unit.
Essential Job Functions: The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated leadership and hands-on experience in gathering data requirements, data mining, multi-source data engineering, and warehousing; performing Structured Query Language (SQL) queries, performing data analysis; performance measurement and benchmarking; creating Business Intelligence (BI) visualizations and reporting. The ideal candidate will also have a thorough understanding of Pasco County Fire Rescue administrative and operational requirements. The ideal candidate will compile data collection for reporting purposes as directed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Serves as the Pasco County Fire Rescue lead on all BI requirements.
- Captures business intelligence requirements by conducting interviews; capturing business analytics questions; and defining key data, performance indicators, and competitive benchmarks.
- Performs and leads data validation and profiling using appropriate tools to identify, document, understand, and correct data quality issues or anomalies.
- Resolves data quality issues by making recommendations to data owners and working with database administrators to implement solutions.
- Recommends workflow and service delivery changes, procedure changes, new policies and data capture options for data needs to fulfill BI needs.
- Performs and leads in creation of BI dashboards, KPIs and BI reports that meet the needs and expectations of customers.
- Performs and leads in the accomplishment of special projects and other duties as assigned to meet team, department, and organizational goals.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to perform and lead requirements gathering for data analytics.
- Ability to identify and address BI data, visualization, and reporting needs.
- General SQL skills and understanding.
- Knowledge of data warehousing and relational database concepts.
- Excellent analytical and forecasting skills.
Minimum Requirements:
PHYSICAL SKILLS: Ability to bend, stand, and climb stairs and ladders. Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written, and visual communication.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
A comparable amount of directly related experience MAY be substituted at the County’s discretion for the minimum educational requirements if candidates are not available that fully meet the minimum requirements of the position as posted.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS: Must possess a valid driver’s license. Must possess a Certificate of Compliance from the Florida Bureau of Fire Standards and Training. Must possess a Florida Emergency Medical Technician certification required. Paramedic certification is preferred.
