People’s Television NY Production Internship
Internship Overview:
People's Television is a full-service creative studio based in New York City and Washington, D.C. that produces digital and broadcast branded content for organizations ranging from Fortune 100 companies to global nonprofits, as well as award-winning independent films and documentaries. We’re seeking a part-time seasonal Production Intern to join us at our NY office, located in Midtown NYC.
As a Production Intern, you will support our NY team across all aspects of production, as well as aid in the management of the NY office. This internship will offer a wonderful opportunity to familiarize yourself with the operations of a production company — from pre-production, to hands-on work with film equipment, to aiding in post processes.
Responsibilities may include:
- Development & Pre-production
- Conducting background research on projects
- Assisting with crew and rental house outreach, obtaining quotes, and drafting schedules and paperwork
- Sourcing images, work samples, and other assets for client pitch decks
- Adding and updating production contacts in Airtable
- Production
- Assisting on-set as a Production Assistant
- Post-Production
- Assisting in managing and organizing photo and video assets
- NY Office & Gear Management
- Assisting maintaining gear inventory on Airtable including tracking check-outs and check-ins
- Assisting the Office Manager with office tasks and errands

Ideal candidate:
- Is enrolled in university or is a recent graduate
- Is detailed-oriented and able to meet deadlines
- Is a creative thinker, with an ability to take initiative and multi-task
- Is an excellent communicator
- Has solid communication, interpersonal, and writing skills
- Is passionate about visual storytelling and film production
- Is friendly, eager to learn and enjoys working with a team!
This is a part-time internship, with approximately 16-24 hrs/week (up to three workdays per week). We will provide class credit through your college or university upon approval from your academic advisor and department head.
Compensation for this role $16.50/hour as an independent contractor on a W9. Approximate start date September 1, 2025, and will last roughly through the end of the fall semester (Nov/Dec).
Because of the in-person requirements of the internship (particularly the equipment management), we require that both days be spent in our office in Midtown. We require that all employees and interns be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 due to the in-person nature of our work.
