Social Media and Marketing Internship

We are looking for energetic students who loves marketing and graphic design. The perfect candidates for this position can work independently and has received education in one or more of the following areas: Public Relations, Marketing, Design, Advertising, Event Planning, and/or Communications. The candidates will be responsible for helping develop and implement marketing programs and strategies.  

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required  

1. Formal education in related field (Design, Communications or Marketing, such as college coursework) 

2. Ability to organize time and work independently, follow directions and complete tasks in an effective manner 

3. Skill in coordinating tasks and projects 

4. Computer skills, including Microsoft Office & Adobe Creative Suite 

5. Knowledge of writing press releases (a plus but not a must) 

6. Willingness to work collaboratively and assist with other tasks as needed 

 

Qualifications 

- Proficiency in a design program and able to create original graphic designs 

- Must demonstrate professionalism in communication with staff and clients 

- Strong writing ability 

- Must be a current student at a college or university  

- Reliable transportation is required 

Responsibilities 

  • Design: Create marketing collateral
  • Writing: Draft copy for newsletter, press releases, testimonials, and web content
  • Social Media: Develop and maintain content
  • Event planning: Assist with CAAIRE events
  • Marketing: Creatively reach new audiences through strategic marketing
  • Presentations: Share what you have learned with others

What Your Schedule Will Look Like:

We know college schedules are packed, so here's what we need from you:

  • The Non-Negotiable:
    • Tuesday mornings are ours! Every Tuesday, 9 AM - 2 PM, we meet as a team. This is where the magic happens—strategy sessions, collaborative planning, and getting energized for the week ahead. Plan your classes around this.
  • The Flexible (But Important) Part:
    • Community events: Most happen Tuesday-Thursday afternoons/evenings, and we'll work with your class schedule to find events that fit.
    • Some weekends required: A handful of Fridays and Saturdays throughout the semester when we have special community programs (we'll give you advance notice!)
  • Total time commitment: Expect 10-20 hours per week (or whatever is accurate), with flexibility in how those hours are distributed based on event schedules and your availability.

Details:  

  • Dates: Flexible. Ideally, at least a 3–4-month commitment (shorter/longer terms available)
  • Hours: Flexible. We are willing to accommodate your schedule, but student must be consistent and reliable. Preferably 10-20 hours a week.
  • Location: Primarily throughout Osceola and Orange Counties, some work from home; however, student must be able to attend meetings/sessions as scheduled
  • Opportunity to use creativity and gain experience in a broad range of Marketing and Public relations areas at a non-profit, youth development organization
  • Marketing Internship is an unpaid position unless college or university credit is above 3 credit hours

Organization (CAAIRE) Description:

CAAIRE is a youth development program which fuses together students involved in arts and/or athletics with Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) education to excel in higher learning. CAAIRE provides a wide range of developmental and academic opportunities for youth ages 9-17. All program activities are developed and facilitated by qualified professionals with many years of experience in education, youth development, and non-profit program management. CAAIRE has several Service-Learning Project (SLP) opportunities which look to broaden our reach within the Central Florida community. Our opportunities include branding/marketing, digital campaigns and social media content creation/design across all media platforms. Additional, SLP areas include Grant Proposals, Nonprofit Management, Volunteer Management and Program Evaluation.
