Pay Range: $20.00 - $24.00
Schedule: Starting ASAP, flexible around school schedule, up to 25 hours/week for max of one year.

SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Public Services Director, will assist division managers within the department in project management, community outreach, researching and analyzing data and trends, record keeping, entering data and creating reports in various software, code and ordinance development, performing field data collection or investigation, creating simple designs using Auto CAD or Google Maps/Earth, and other technical tasks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Learns and explores all aspects of the Public Services Department including: parks and program design, planning, analysis and evaluation; needs assessment; personnel management; operations; fiscal management; promotions, marketing and communications; regulatory standards; resource identification; diversity recognition and risk management
- Assists with project management including gathering cost estimates, researching for best products, purchasing and procurement, and other clerical tasks.
- Work with division managers and supervisors to assist, shadow and/or perform assigned tasked for each division within public services.
- Prepare reports and other documents such as cost benefit analysis, key performance measures and metrics, policy analysis and development, simple drawings and designs using computer software.
- Attend various meetings as assigned
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduate or currently enrolled in an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree program in parks and recreation, leisure studies, facilities management, construction management, business management, landscape design, or a related field.
Experience: No experience required.
Certifications/Licenses:
- Valid Utah Driver’s License
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of:
- Must be able to learn new information quickly
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Publisher.
- Report writing and preparing presentations
Skill with:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strongly skilled in gathering information and data, analyzing data, and compiling necessary and effective reports.
- Preferred skills in Auto CAD or other software used for architectural drawings.
Ability to:
- Ability to learn new information quickly
- Take action in solving problems while exhibiting judgment and a systematic approach to decision making.
- Create and participate in a team environment.
- Display willingness to listen and learn
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative planning and working relationships with other staff members, vendors, and the general public
