Marketing and Communications Specialist

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate special projects and events to ensure success of the events, products and programs
  • Design member marketing materials
  • Represent the credit union during site visits and community events to promote our products and services
  • Maintain an active presence in the community and throughout the state and around our physical branch locations
  • Coordinate social media efforts through Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram
  • Assist in maintaining and updating company website
  • Research and provides updates on various audiences and demographics
  • Maintain levels of performance to meet individual, department, and organizational goals
  • Participate in all scheduled department meetings, training and special events as needed.
  • Continually strives to gain increased knowledge of our products, services, core operating systems, policies, procedures, philosophy, and organizational structure.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.
     

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or other related field and/or equivalent combination of appropriate education and experience is required.
  • Ability to effectively speak in public
  • Effective and professional communication skills (verbal, written, and visual).
  • Must be a team player
  • Detailed organization skills.
  • Professional and proficient phone etiquette.
  • Strong PC skills, must have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Power Point, Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience in Adobe Suites programs (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign).
  • Ability to operate standard office machines (i.e. calculator, copier, fax, etc).
  • This position requires driving a company owned vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the company.  A current and valid Ohio driver's license and auto insurance must also be maintained. 
     

Travel:

This position may require overnight travel within the state of Ohio up to 15%, as well as, up to 30% daily travel.

While performing the duties of this job, you will need to have good manual dexterity as well as speaking and hearing ability. This position requires frequent standing and sitting; Some reaching, stooping or kneeling.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. It is expected that the employee will read, compile, compute and record numerical and statistical data.
