Northern Colorado Wildlife Center is seeking a creative, motivated, and dependable intern to help grow our digital presence and support key communications and fundraising initiatives. This internship is ideal for a university student eager to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit marketing, public relations, and content creation — all while making a tangible impact for Colorado’s native wildlife.
Job Description
The Social Media & Marketing Intern will assist in planning, producing, and managing content across multiple digital platforms. This includes social media, email marketing, and seasonal fundraising campaigns. The intern will also support the development of NCWC’s subscriber-based social media features and coordinate community-based fundraising promotions (e.g., percent-of-sale partnerships).
Responsibilities Include:
- Drafting and scheduling content for NCWC’s social media platforms
- Producing a monthly email newsletter for supporters
- Promoting fundraising events and digital campaigns
- Assisting with in-kind donation outreach to local businesses
- Engaging our online audience with mission-driven storytelling and answering public questions
- Completing other marketing or outreach tasks as assigned by supervisors
Applicants Should Have:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Basic experience with Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube
- Familiarity with basic photography and short-form video content creation
- The ability to write clearly, professionally, and meet deadlines
- Experience with tools like Canva and Mailchimp is a plus
Interns must be able to commit 10–12 hours per week and be available to start the week after CSU’s fall semester begins. Interviews will be conducted in mid-to-late July, and the internship will run through the end of December, with the potential for extension if desired.
