Software Engineer
A well-established digital entertainment brand is seeking a Software Engineer to join their Consumer Applications team focused on SmartTV platforms. This is a fully remote opportunity to build and optimize applications that reach millions of viewers through next-generation streaming experiences.
Role:
In this role, you'll:
๐ฅ๏ธ Design and build SmartTV apps using JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS
๐บ Ensure seamless performance across platforms like Samsung Tizen, LG webOS, and Vizio
๐ค Work cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and QA engineers
๐ง Optimize apps for memory and performance in embedded environments
๐งช Write maintainable, well-tested code for production
๐งญ Provide technical direction and mentorship within the team
๐งฉ Troubleshoot and debug issues across multiple device ecosystems
๐ Contribute to architectural discussions and process improvements
Requirements:
๐ BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
๐ผ 5+ years in front-end development, including 2+ years building SmartTV apps
๐ก Deep proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3
โ๏ธ Experience with video streaming (HLS/DASH), DRM, and performance optimization
๐ Strong debugging skills in embedded or non-standard browsers
๐ Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, and Agile methodologies
Bonus Points (Preferred):
๐ Experience with analytics, A/B testing, or remote config tools
๐ Familiarity with internationalization & accessibility standards
๐ฑ Exposure to Roku, Fire TV, or Android TV development
โก Experience with LightningJS framework
