Marketing and Communications Intern

Are you creative, hardworking, and looking to gain hands-on experience working on a variety of projects? We are seeking a marketing intern who can contribute fresh ideas, create content, assist in admissions work and research school data points. The Intern would work collaboratively on admissions and marketing teams to conduct research that improves our brand, communications, and strategy. Reporting directly to the Director of Strategic Initiatives, the ideal candidate has a strong understanding of brand marketing, social media, and digital marketing strategies, as well as an interest in working on high-impact projects. Villa Maria is seeking a fall intern for assistance on a variety of projects that impact our school initiatives. We seek a fresh perspective on brand trends and creative thought.

About Villa Maria Academy High School

Villa Maria Academy High School is a 9-12 Catholic, Independent, all-girls high school located in Malvern, PA.  This internship would be in person.

The school day is from 7:45AM to 3:15PM.   Twelve to fifteen hours per week per university credit requirements.  Fall events may occur on some weekends which intern may switch hours to accommodate. Hours are somewhat flexible but some work may be required outside of these hours for special event work. 

Objectives of this role

  • Play a role throughout the marketing cycle in positioning, messaging, and storytelling
  • Contribute to marketing campaigns that further the school’s strategic goals
  • Monitor school data for better decisions on projects and budget
  • Apply marketing concepts to engage young people to our brand
  • Provide support for virtual and in-person events in admissions
  • Contribute fresh ideas that can enhance the ROI of the campaigns

 

Responsibilities

  • Support the MARKCOM team to plan, develop, and execute marketing initiatives
  • Complete projects related to branding, content creation, and social media
  • Assist with photography and videography at key events and around campus
  • Perform competitive school market research to aid in data collection
  • Collect performance metrics in google and campaign statistics to evaluate directions in marketing and promotion.
  • Assist in admissions work and fall event execution.
  • Archival work for Rocket Systems.
  • Participate in weekly creative meetings for projects.
  • Assist with new campus video initiatives and potential logo creation for small projects.

  • Good eye for photography and/or videography
  • Excel skills helpful

 

Majors

Marketing and communications majors, education majors, Media majors
Sophomore, Junior, Senior, graduate.

Credit hours available.  Paid Stipend: $2500 for semester.

Preferred qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of marketing principles and industry trends
  • Proven aptitude in seeking creative solutions to multi-faceted challenges
  • Ability to influence, inspire, and lead from any role
