AI Voice UX/User Experience Design - Summer 2025 Internship

Note: the robotic carrier video on our public website is an earlier product we explored in 2023. With a combination of highly sophisticated software and hardware, we are now focused on developing a groundbreaking AI platform for interactions in public spaces. We'll share more details during the interview process.
Key Responsibilities
- User Research: Conduct surveys, interviews, and usability studies to understand customer pain points in wine shopping.
- Interface Design: Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups for AiCap’s touchscreen/voice interface using Figma/Sketch/XD.
- Interaction Design: Design seamlessly integrated flows between voice and touchscreen presentations and interactions.
- Usability Testing: Validate designs through user testing and iterate based on feedback.
- Collaboration: Work with product management to agree on the design and work with engineers to align the interface with backend capabilities.
Qualifications
- Pursuing a degree in UX/UI Design, HCI, Interaction Design, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch; basic knowledge of prototyping tools (e.g., InVision).
- Familiarity with user-centered design principles and accessibility standards.
- Portfolio showcasing interface design projects (school/work/personal).
- Passion for retail tech, AI, and customer experience innovation.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with voice interface design (e.g., Alexa Skills, Google Actions).
- Experience with AI/LLM-driven interface design.
- Experience with POS, kiosk, or other touchscreen-based designs.
- Interest in computer vision or AR/VR applications.
- Basic understanding of retail analytics (e.g., customer journey mapping).
Program Details
- From July to September for 36 hours weekly.
- Flexible Schedule: The dates above can be adjusted to accommodate your school or personal schedule with a minimum total commitment of 8 weeks.
Locations: NYC, Seattle, or Remote.
