IT Systems Administrator

ChildNet Youth & Family Services, Inc. is currently seeking an IT Systems Administrator for our Information Technology department in Long Beach, CA.

Under the general direction of the IT Director, the position performs a variety of technical tasks in the area of computer systems and networks. The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for manage, maintain and optimize the IT infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft 365 and other Microsoft technologies to ensure seamless and secure operations of the IT systems. The IT Administrator role requires a balance of technical expertise, end-user support, and collaboration with various stake holders to ensure the IT systems align with organizational needs and objectives. The position will maintain essential IT infrastructure, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, network technologies and hardware. Handle critical IT tasks and systems administration. The IT Systems Administrator deals with moderate to advanced levels of technical systems and assists the agency in achieving cost effective objectives through state-of-the-art technologies.

Day to Day Responsibilities

The IT Systems Administrator responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Administer and support Active Directory.
  • Maintain, document, support and ensure the health of all Microsoft Cloud service in our environment.
  • Communicate appropriately with end users to understand their needs. Proceed with appropriate actions that include requirement documentation, design, and project management.
  • Administer Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive, be responsible for configuration and support of Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive functionality to support the end user community.
  • Evaluate needs and deliver solutions using OneDrive, Teams, SharePoint and other Office 365 collaboration tools.
  • Have knowledge of Authorization & Authentication in Microsoft hybrid environment and experience with Azure AD, including Single Sign On (SSO) and Multi Factor Authentication (MFA).
  • Continually monitor the operational impact of systems, user acceptance, and compliance with regulations best practices.
  • Perform help desk activities representing approximately 15-20% of this roles time to ensure the IT needs of users are met.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The IT Systems Administrator shall possess:

  • At least 5 years of industry experience including (but not limited to); Windows technologies including Microsoft Office, networking, remote computing and backup systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline is preferred, but not required.
  • Professional certification (e.g. Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) is a plus.
  • An equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered.
  • Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and phone systems.
  • Firm grasp on IT infrastructure and operations best practices.
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to maintain professional interpersonal relationships and interact well with staff at all levels.
  • Ability to maintain sensitive information with the strictest confidentiality.
  • Must comply with HIPAA confidentiality standards when accessing or communicating patient information.
  • Excellent communication skills, including professional written and verbal skills, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • An openness to mentorship and guidance.
  • Experience administering Microsoft technologies such as: Active Directory, Microsoft 365 Platform, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Intune MDM, SSO and Identity Management. Knowledge of PowerShell scripting is a plus.
  • Experience working in healthcare-related environment is desirable.

All offers of employment with ChildNet Youth and Family Services, Inc. are contingent upon a post-offer, pre-hire medical clearance with an occupational physical, tuberculosis screening, and a negative drug test. A criminal background clearance which consists of fingerprinting through the Dept. of Justice/FBI/Child Abuse Index Search is required. An essential function of this position does require driving. Underwriting requirements of this agency include keeping a valid California driver’s license, valid auto liability insurance on file, and maintaining a good driving record while employed.

Hourly Range: $40.00-$43.00

*Pay rate will be determined based on qualifications, experience, and/or a combination of those factors.
