Job Responsibilities
- Record and reconcile financial transactions (A/R, A/P, bank and credit card accounts).
- Process invoices, payments, and journal entries accurately and on time.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure all accounts are current and accurate.
- Month-End and Year-End Close.
- Assist in monthly and annual financial close processes.
- Prepare and review account reconciliations and accruals.
- Generate standard financial reports for management.
- Complete tax forms
- Collection of accounts receivables
- Help with budgeting
- Monitoring line of credit
- Monitoring credit card interest rates
Requirements and Skills
- Student in Finance, Accounting, Bookkeeping or Business Administration
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles
- Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
- Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets
- Proficiency in English and in MS Office (especially Excel and Outlook)
- Experience with cash collection
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Experience with Oracle (NetSuite) or a similar ERP system is a plus
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable with working in a fast-paced environment that requires attention to details and problem-solving
- Ability to manage stress and stay focused
- Accustomed to work with timelines & high expectations
- Capable of following the company’s strategic objectives
Organizational Alignment
- Reports to the CEO
- Located in Ferndale, MI
Hours
- 4 to 5 hours a day (flexible between 8AM and 6PM)
- 2 days a week
- All year long
