Thirdplace is a new startup building a social marketplace that connects venues with everyday event organizers—from game nights to community meetups, art shows to poetry slams. We make it easy to find underutilized spaces in your neighborhood and empower anyone to host meaningful in-person events.

We’re not just another event platform. Thirdplace is designed for real people—not just professionals—to create, connect, and build community through live events. Imagine Airbnb meets Meetup, powered by your favorite neighborhood spots.

🧩 The Project

We're currently building our Minimum Viable Product (MVP) using the MEAN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, Angular, Node.js). This will power our first cohort of users—venues and organizers—in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, and beyond.

🚀 The Opportunity

We’re looking for two passionate full stack developers to join us at the ground floor. This is a pre-funding, equity-only position ideal for:

Students or recent grads looking for real-world product experience

Engineers excited about working in startups, community platforms, and cultural tech

Developers who want ownership and mentorship, not just task lists

You’ll be joining a small, agile team helping shape the foundation of our platform.

🛠 What You’ll Be Doing

Collaborating with our Head of Development and Founder on building the MVP

Writing both frontend and backend code using the MEAN stack

Implementing key features like organizer dashboards, venue pages, and event tools

Participating in weekly sprints, async check-ins, and version control workflows

Helping us shape the tech and culture of the product from day one

✅ What We’re Looking For

Familiarity with JavaScript, Node.js, Express, MongoDB, and Angular

Ability to take ownership of a feature and see it through to production

A portfolio, GitHub, or class project you’re proud to show us

Curiosity, communication, and a desire to build something meaningful
