Position Type: Internship (Part-time, 15-20 hours/week)
Duration: Semester-based or 3-6 months
Position Summary
The Events Intern will gain hands-on experience in nonprofit event planning and coordination while providing valuable support to our events team. This internship offers exposure to all aspects of event management, from initial planning through post-event evaluation, while contributing to meaningful fundraising and community engagement efforts that advance our mission.
Key Responsibilities
Event Planning Support
- Assist with research and coordination of event venues, vendors, and suppliers
- Help create and maintain event timelines, checklists, and planning documents
- Support logistics coordination including setup, registration, and breakdown
- Assist with event material preparation and inventory management
Marketing and Promotion
- Help develop promotional materials and social media content for events
- Assist with donor and volunteer communications related to events
- Support registration processes and attendee tracking
- Help maintain event websites and online platforms
Day-of-Event Support
- Assist with event setup, registration, and attendee check-in
- Provide on-site support during events as needed
- Help coordinate volunteers and manage event logistics
- Support breakdown and cleanup activities
Administrative Tasks
- Maintain event databases and contact lists
- Assist with budget tracking and expense reporting
- Help with post-event follow-up and thank-you communications
- Support evaluation and reporting activities

Qualifications
Education: Currently enrolled in college or recent graduate preferred
Skills:

- Enthusiasm for nonprofit work and community engagement
Preferred:
- Previous volunteer or work experience in events or nonprofit sector
- Familiarity with event management software or databases
- Creative thinking and problem-solving skills
- Bilingual abilities (English/Spanish) a plus
