Information Security Specialist Intern

About the Role:

We’re looking for a tech-savvy, security-minded intern to join our team! If you're passionate about cybersecurity, systems access, and supporting a distributed workforce, this is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in real-world IT operations and information security.

You Will:

Configure and assist teammates with:

• Virtual office access
• Online scheduling tools
• Company email creation
• Computer maintenance
• Respond to tech support tickets via our CRM platform (Podio), including email, Skype, and personal computer issues (e.g., storage, spyware, antivirus).

Provide access and training for:

• LastPass (password management)
• ClickUp (project management)
• Conduct new teammate onboardings.
• Research, evaluate, develop, and implement Identity Access Management (IAM) designs and standards.
• Educate teammates on cybersecurity best practices.
• Ensure tech solutions align with business goals and strategic needs.
• Improve application security and develop an incident response (IR) plan.
• Investigate potential security threats and ensure regular data backups.
• Attend regular team and senior meetings.

You Are:

• Adaptable to changing priorities and comfortable handling multiple tasks.
• Excellent at written and verbal communication, with strong knowledge of MS Office and internet tools.
• Motivated, detail-oriented, reliable, and organized.
• Independent and able to attend virtual meetings as needed.
• Tech-savvy with access to a reliable computer and internet connection.
