SUB - Acute Residential Counselor Adult - Crisis Stabilization:

Maintain a stable environment for adults with mental health and/or substance use challenges. This position works at a hospital diversion program that supports adults having a mental health crisis. This is a unique opportunity to gain a broad level of experience in the fields of substance use and mental health.

Sub Acute Residential Counselors cover open shifts (day, evening, weekends, overnights) due to vacancies and planned/unplanned time off. This position offers flexible schedules, supervision and training, and opportunity for professional growth within the program.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide supportive counseling, medication management, and crisis intervention
  • Help residents strengthen coping and symptom management skills
  • Maintain the overall functioning and cleanliness of the programs
  • Plan and prepare nutritious meals
  • Provide short-term case management and referrals to appropriate levels of care
  • Facilitate groups
  • Administer medication

Requirements:

  • One year of experience in the field of substance use or a combination of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills have been acquired
  • Ability to deal effectively with crisis situations
  • Ability to multi-task and engage with clients
  • Computer literacy
  • Excellent written, listening, and communication skills
  • Valid driver's License, and use of a personal vehicle

Structure:

  • Pay rate is $22.52 an hour, plus shift differentials
