Retail Sales Supervisor

Pay Rate: $19.00 an hour
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Schedule, train, coach, and evaluate staff, and conduct performance reviews
- Direct daily work activities and inspect completed work for conformance to standards
- Develop, maintain, and provide direction related to policies and procedures
- Prepare for and conduct inventories and manage inventory control system
- Anticipate traffic levels, and order and maintain stock levels using department guidelines
- Develop and maintain business relationships with various vendors
- Review revenue audits and profit and loss statements to identify cost savings and maximize revenue
- Effectively communicate with support departments
- Identify and resolve merchandise problems, over/short shipments and billing errors
- Maintain the overall general appearance of the retail sales and storage areas
- Operate point-of-sales system and handle cash and cash equivalents
KNOWLEDGE AND CERTIFICATION, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Required Knowledge and Certification:
- 1-year previous cash register experience
- 1 -year previous customer service experience
Preferred Knowledge and Certification:
- High school diploma / GED or equivalent experience
- Previous supervisory experience
Required Skills:
- Accurate and detail-oriented
- Highly organized and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), and proficiency with current operating systems
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Above average math skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to stand or walk for periods of up to 8 hours
- Must have a good sense of balance, and be able to bend and kneel
- Must be able to reach and twist occasionally
- Must be able to push, pull, and grasp objects routinely
- Must have the ability to independently lift up to 25 pounds routinely
- Must be able to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions
- Must have good eye hand coordination
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
- Work is performed primarily in the retail including flashing lights, frequent loud noises and cigarette smoke
- Must be able to work in cramped, tight quarters
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including all shifts, weekends and holidays
- Occasionally must deal with angry or hostile individuals
- High volume direct public contact
