Location: Onsite - Fond du Lac, WI
Hours: Part Time & Full Time Available
Duration: To Be Discussed - Flexible
 

Position Overview:
We EmpowHER is seeking a passionate and dedicated Youth/Child Care Intern to join our team. This role is perfect for someone enthusiastic about working with children and committed to fostering a safe, positive, and nurturing environment. As a Youth/Child Care Intern, you will gain valuable hands-on experience in youth engagement, program facilitation, and nonprofit childcare services while supporting families in our community.

Key Responsibilities:

Childcare Services:

Supervise children in a safe and supportive environment during workshops, classes, and events.

Plan and facilitate age-appropriate activities such as arts and crafts, storytelling, games, and educational play.

Support the physical, emotional, and social needs of children, fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere.

Youth Program Support:

Assist in planning and executing youth-focused activities and programs aligned with We EmpowHER’s mission.

Help develop creative lesson plans and projects to engage children meaningfully.

Collect feedback from children and parents to enhance program quality and effectiveness.

Administrative Support:

Maintain accurate records of attendance, activities, and supplies used during childcare sessions.

Prepare and organize materials needed for activities and youth programming.

Collaborate with staff to assess program success and offer ideas for continuous improvement.

Skills and Experience You Will Develop:

Practical experience creating and facilitating engaging, age-appropriate activities for children.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills working with children, parents, and colleagues.

Crisis management and problem-solving skills in childcare and youth engagement settings.

Understanding of developmental needs and best practices for working with children.

Insight into the role of childcare within nonprofit organizations and community programs.

Qualifications:

Interest or experience working with children in educational or childcare settings.

Reliable, patient, and enthusiastic with a passion for youth development.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Willingness to undergo background checks as required for working with children.
