
After-School Dance Instructor (Elementary Level)
About the Role:
Digital Dreamers STEAM Academy is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic Dance Instructor to lead fun and dynamic after-school dance classes for elementary school students. If you have a strong background in dance, love working with kids, and can bring creativity and rhythm to every session, this role is for you!
Responsibilities:
- Plan and teach weekly after-school dance classes in a safe, inclusive, and encouraging environment.
- Introduce students to basic dance techniques, movement coordination, and rhythm.
- Create age-appropriate choreography in styles such as hip-hop, K-pop, jazz, or creative movement.
- Promote physical fitness, self-expression, and teamwork through dance.
- Prepare a mini-performance or showcase piece to share with families or classmates.
- Communicate effectively with program staff and school site contacts.
Requirements:
- Previous experience teaching dance to children (especially grades TK–3).
- Proficiency in one or more dance styles suited for young learners.
- Ability to keep students motivated, engaged, and moving.
- Passion for youth development and dance education.
- Consistent availability for weekly classes during the Fall term.
- Must be able to pass a background check and provide references.
Schedule & Commitment:
- Classes will be held once a week in the afternoon (after school) for 1–2 hours.
- The program will run during the Fall 2025 session at Menlo Park Area.
Bonus (Not Required):
- Experience leading group performances or showcases.
- Ability to blend cultural or thematic elements into choreography.
- Familiarity with STEAM-aligned or arts-integrated curriculum approaches.
