What You’ll Do

  • Provide guidance on IT policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure smooth operations.
  • Assess client needs and recommend resources such as staff or equipment to solve technical challenges.
  • Track project progress and report on milestones or issues to keep projects on track.
  • Prepare specifications for new software applications or enhancements, contributing to innovative technology solutions.
  • Support the testing and evaluation of system upgrades to maintain cutting-edge functionality.
  • Install, upgrade, and troubleshoot software and hardware, ensuring systems run smoothly.
  • Audit information systems and new vendor software for compliance with organizational standards.
  • Prepare and present solutions to business problems, both verbally and in writing, showcasing your strong communication skills.
  • Contribute to the design, coding, implementation, and maintenance of management information systems and applications.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of all work performed for transparency and future reference.
  • Provide software application training to customers, helping them navigate systems with confidence.

What We’re Looking For

  • Education
    • AA in computer science or information processing, OR completion of 24 college semester units (or 36 quarter units) in computer science, information systems, or a related field. 
    • No degree? No problem – up to 2 years of additional qualifying experience can substitute for education.
  • Experience
    • At least 1 year of full-time experience (or equivalent) in software applications programming or systems analysis.
  • Technical Knowledge
    • Familiarity with programming languages and operating systems 
    • Understanding of software installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance techniques
    • Awareness of operational characteristics of computer program network software and programming languages
    • Ability to detect, isolate, and resolve application/user problems
    • Experience with installing and upgrading systems or software
    • Basic knowledge of application development, system design, and programming methods
  • Skills and Attributes
    • A knack for problem solving, especially with abstract reasoning. 
    • Ability to learn the functions and interconnected uses of computer equipment
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to all audiences
    • Team-oriented mindset, able to establish strong and productive working relationships
    • Eagerness to learn – ready to master detection and resolution of application issues, system upgrades, and advanced technical skills.
