In collaboration with peers in CTS and throughout ALLETE, the Manager – Enterprise Applications leads and supervises the team to design, procure, implement and maintain ALLETE’s enterprise applications, ensuring reliability, availability, accuracy, security and resilience. Working within the ALLETE enterprise architecture framework, they will collaboratively develop and execute a strategic plan for the applications they support (on-premise and cloud), ensuring they continue to address changing business needs and technology risks.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide leadership and direction to the teams who design, procure, implement, and maintain ALLETE’s enterprise applications, to ensure reliability, availability, accuracy, security, and resilience.
- Collaboratively develop and execute strategic plans for supported applications (on-premise and cloud technologies) to ensure changing business needs and technology risks are continually addressed.
- Requires high level of interpersonal skills to establish and maintain positive and productive working relationships.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s or higher required.
- Degree in software-related field preferred.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Ten years or more experience in IT, Operations, or business process improvement WITH three years or more in a supervisory role.
- Strong technical background in project management, application design, implementation, and maintenance preferred.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards preferred (SOX, NIST/CIS, NERC CIP).
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Our balanced work routine offers the flexibility of hybrid work with the benefits of in-person collaboration. Team members are expected to be in the office between 3 to 5 days each week, ensuring productive team interaction and personal flexibility.
- This position will report to Duluth, MN.
- Knowledge of emerging technologies and industry trends in the enterprise applications space and the ability to form a defined strategy that balances needs with resources.
- Ability to analyze complex issues and provide innovative solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to explain technical topics clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- This position may be subject to assessment of skills, job match and/or aptitude.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
- The expected annual compensation range for this position is $133,400 - $166,800. Compensation offered to the selected candidate will vary depending on relevant knowledge, skills, training, experience, and market conditions.
