Reporting to the Lead Clinician, the Clinician is responsible for direct therapeutic services to clients including individual and group therapy. They administer assessments and coordinates services to ensure high-quality clinical services.

DUTIES

  • Provide direct therapeutic services to clients and program participants as needed, including group work and family therapy;
  • Administer required behavioral and mental health assessments for youth;
  •  Coordinate services for each youth in conjunction with Case Manager;
  •  Participate in staff meetings and offer clinical feedback regarding client treatment needs;
  •  Attend, facilitate, and assist with providing on-going education and support services to foster parents;
  •  Provide record keeping and documentation for all clinical activities in accordance with program and ORR policy;
  •  Provide crisis intervention and guidance to youth and foster families regarding clinical components of crisis intervention and long-term treatment strategies;
  •  Comply with laws and regulations regarding client confidentiality;
  • Provide supervision to interns, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in Social Work with clinical experience OR;
  •  Master's degree in psychology, sociology, or other relevant behavioral science in which direct clinical experience is a program requirement OR Bachelor's degree and 5 years clinical employment experience in the behavioral sciences may be accepted;
  •  Licensure to provide clinical services in Maryland and/or Virginia or eligible to obtain professional licensure or registration;
  •  Experience with refugee and/or immigrant populations, preferred;
  •  Fluent in Spanish, Dari/Pashto, or French preferred;
  •  Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including interpersonal communication, and clinical and persuasive writing skills;
  •  Ability to work under stress or in a fast-paced environment, including crisis situations;
  •  Computer and typing skills sufficient to perform essential job functions;
  •  Valid Driver's License, proof of automobile insurance and positive driving record to transport minors in own vehicle if needed, required;
  •  Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries.
