Cybersecurity Analyst

Overview:

We are seeking an entry-level Cybersecurity Analyst with 1–3 years of experience or a recent graduate with Cybersecurity internship experience. This person would play a key role in incident response, risk mitigation, vulnerability management, and cybersecurity training.

Given the hands-on nature of the role, candidates must be able to quickly ramp up on core cybersecurity practices. Prior internship or full-time experience in cybersecurity is strongly preferred and will be necessary to remain competitive in this applicant pool. Candidates should also be eager to enhance their skills through ongoing training and development while contributing to the security of a major financial institution.

What You’ll Do

· Incident Response – Investigate and respond to cybersecurity incidents, conducting root cause analysis, mitigating risks, and documenting findings to enhance detection and response capabilities.

· Risk Identification & Mitigation – Continuously assess cybersecurity risks related to business processes, human error, and external threats, implementing proactive mitigation strategies.

· Vulnerability Management – Manage vulnerability assessments using tools like Tenable, ensuring timely patching, tracking security exposures, and enforcing compliance with zero-trust architecture best practices.

· Awareness & Training – Develop and administer cybersecurity awareness programs, including phishing simulations, access control training, and endpoint security education, to reinforce a security-first culture.

· Security Monitoring & Optimization – Monitor, analyze, and optimize security tools such as Microsoft Defender, and identity & access management (IAM) solutions, leveraging zero-trust authentication models and real-time threat intelligence to improve security visibility.

 

Required:

· Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field from an accredited four-year college or university.

· Familiarity with cybersecurity tools like Tenable, Zscaler, and Microsoft Security solutions.

· Familiarity with incident response, threat analysis, and vulnerability management.

· Familiarity with security frameworks, cloud security, and identity management best practices.

· Ability to analyze security risks and recommend proactive solutions.

· Experience developing and delivering cybersecurity awareness programs to improve organizational security awareness.

Nice to Have:

· Basic scripting experience (Python, VBA) for automating security reporting is a plus.

· Cybersecurity certifications (Security+, CISSP, CISM, GIAC, CEH, etc.)  

· Support compliance with NIST SP 800-53 and other security frameworks, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
