Direct Support Specialist / DSP, Residential - $500 Sign On Bonus

Monarch NC, a provider of high-quality and trauma-informed care for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental illness and substance use disorders, is seeking a dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our Residential team in New Bern, NC.

 

Work Schedule:

 

  •  Every other weekend, Saturday through Sunday, 7 AM - 7 PM

 

***There is a $500 sign on bonus for this position!***

 

As a Direct Support Professional, you will you will be primarily responsible for supporting people to achieve their personal dreams and goals. Staff is on 1:3 ratio (1 staff to 3 people we support). There are at least two staff members scheduled on every shift. The people we support all sleep through the night at this location and may be non-verbal. The Overnight Shift is expected to stay awake the entire shift and must check on the people we support every 15 minutes and document accordingly. 

 

Duties Include:

 

  • Administer morning medication
  • Handfeed meals
  • Transportation to appointments
  • Cook meals
  • Assist with showers and personal care
  • Daily charting and documentation
  • Cleaning and general upkeep of the site
  • Light cleaning on certain shifts
  • Deep cleaning on certain shifts

 

To qualify, candidates must have the following: 

 

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • At least 1 year of experience working with people with intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, mental health issues or substance abuse issues.
  • A valid Driver's License is also required.
