American Air Balance Company is growing, and we are seeking the right individual to learn and grow with us. Our firm is an independent Test and Balance Agency servicing the southwestern region of the U.S. with our headquarters in Anaheim, CA. We are looking to hire a CAD Drafter.  This is a full-time position and the general working hours are Monday through Friday between 7 AM & 4:30 PM, at our Anaheim office. 

 

Summary

               

               A CAD Drafter is responsible for generating professional and accurate floor plans/drawings.  These prints accompany our final test and balance reports and are sent out to our clients. 

 

Responsibilities 

 

  • Assist with and produce professional drawings in line with company standards
  • Generate drawings from scratch where plans are not provided
  • Incorporate technical data from test and balance reports into the final product
  • Produce & submit written documentation when necessary to resolve discrepancies between mechanical prints and technician’s reports
  • Prepare drawings of custom air moving equipment to show static pressure drops across components
  • Copy, enlarge, shrink, print, re-print and fold drawings
  • Respond to questions from supervisors, customer service reps & management
  • Ensure equipment malfunctions are reported and addressed in a timely manner 
  • Assist the sales department with takeoffs & quote generation
  • Work with clients, vendors and other employees/departments to assure smooth, efficient operation and unparalleled customer service
  • Other duties as assigned

CAD Director, Reports Department, Sales Department, Customer Service Reps, Field Technicians and IT Department

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, architecture, computer science, engineering or similar field of study is preferred. 
  • Associate’s degree in drafting/CADD or associated field required, but may be substituted by equivalent work experience 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications 
  • Experience in AutoCAD is a must
  • Ability to work with others 
  • Problem solving and decision making skills 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision 
  • Self-starter with good work ethic and ability to learn quickly.
  • Possess good organizational skills to balance and prioritize work.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
