Docketing Specialist (IP)
We are seeking a highly motivated Docketing Specialist to join our talented team. This full-time hybrid role, based in Atlanta, GA, offers the perfect balance of in-office collaboration and remote flexibility. As a Docketing Specialist at Thomas Horstemeyer, you’ll play an essential role in maintaining and monitoring Thomas Horstemeyer’ s docketing system ensuring that deadlines are accurately tracked and communicated effectively.
What You’ll Do:
- Be at the heart of innovation: Ensure the accuracy and completeness of docketing of documents received from the USPTO.
- Make a tangible impact: Provide guidance and respond to docket-related questions and problems from the IP team of attorneys and staff.
- Work on high-profile cases: Read, sort and distribute incoming mail, either from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office “USPTO,” all other foreign government agencies, and/or foreign associates in a timely manner and in accordance with established procedures.
- Master your craft: Identify and resolve inconsistencies in docketing data and implementing solutions to prevent future problems

What We’re Looking For:
- At least 3 years of experience in docketing
- Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certification preferred
- CPI and IP experience preferred
- Knowledge of USPTO and foreign procedures, rules, and requirements
- Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently
- Previous experience in a legal setting, particularly in the field of intellectual property, is highly desirable
