Contributing Writer

Role Overview 
We are seeking a team of undergraduate Contributing Writers for a dynamic, remote National Writer's Program at Brokerverse. This opportunity is ideal for current college students eager to gain hands-on experience in the fields of journalism or real estate. Prior digital newswriting experience is preferred, but not required for students on track in relevant fields of study.

This is an unpaid experiential learning opportunity that may be eligible for academic credit depending on your university’s policy.
 

What You'll Do

  • Newswriting Shifts (6 per month)
    • Participate in live digital newsroom shifts (~4 hours each)
      Produce ~650-word real estate news articles under editorial deadlines
      Collaborate with editors and peers in real time via Slack and Google Docs
  • Feature Writing (1 per month)
    • Research and write a longer-form feature outside shift hours (~850 words)
    • Topics may include profiles, listicles, explainers, or investigative-style reporting
  • Attend  Team Events
    • Virtual speaker sessions with real estate and media professionals
    • Editorial workshops focused on skill development
    • Team-building and networking opportunities with other student writers
       

What We're Looking For

  • Strong writing, research, and fact-checking skills
  • Familiarity with Google Docs, Slack, and digital collaboration
  • Ability to meet editorial deadlines and respond to feedback
  • Interest in journalism, real estate, business, or media
  • Prior newswriting or blogging experience is a plus, but not required
     

Time Commitment & Structure

  • ~6 editorial shifts per month (M–F, 9am–1pm ET or 1pm–5pm ET)
  • 1 feature story drafted per month on a flexible schedule
  • ~18 hours per week (on average)

This opportunity is remote and designed to accommodate your academic schedule.
