PreK Teacher
Basic Function: The Teacher plans, supervises and implements learning as they lead a classroom of students to grow developmentally appropriate, spiritually, emotionally, socially, physically and in their knowledge as to the age group they are teaching.
Scope of Responsibility: This team member serves in conjunction with the Director and other preschool staff to promote the ministry and mission of the preschool over a 36 week school year.
Reporting Structure: The Teacher at Kids Express Preschool reports to the Director of Kids Express Preschool.
Primary Job Functions:
- Present the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the students and families of KEP.
- Plan, supervise, and implement a sound educational program addressing the development of the children in their classroom. Lesson plans will be written.
- Provide classroom management techniques to help each child grow socially and emotionally.
- Create and maintain a safe learning environment that is conducive to learning.
- Facilitate positive relationships among preschool students and families through regular communication.
- Assess and evaluate students weekly providing a progress report twice a year for parents.
- Participate in Professional Development and Biblical training yearly.
Qualifications: A personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ exemplified through their life. A commitment to the mission of Kids Express Preschool and the Statement of Faith of Grace Church at Willow Valley. Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education is strongly recommended although an Associates in ECE or CDA is acceptable. A yearly Professional Development plan may be required. Teaching experience preferred. Able to lift up to 50 lbs, crouch, sit, stand, and respond to children’s needs.
