WORK STUDY Vandal Success Center Desk Attendant 25-26

We are looking for 8 new desk attendants for the 2025-2026 year! Desk Attendants average 10 hours per week.

Come work at the Vandal Success Center front desk where you will help support the following programs: 

  • University Advising Services
  • SSS-TRIO
  • Academic Coaching
  • Vandals Tutoring
  • SI-PASS
  • Career Services

Our academic year hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM

Under the supervision of the Executive Assistant for Vandal Success, the Vandal Success Center Desk Attendants will be trained and work on projects independently and with other team members.  

Required Qualifications: 

Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Customer service experience 

Preferred Qualifications: 

Microsoft Outlook 

Basic Excel experience 

Good written and verbal skills 

Experience with Canva, Adobe design suite, Publisher or other design software

Position Responsibilities 

Communications/Logistics: 

  • Responsible for communicating accurate information to clientele and staff
  • Provide front line customer service via phone, email and in-person
  • Schedule appointments
  • Check-in clients for appointments and interviews
  • Work with supervisor and fellow desk attendants on various tasks and projects

Administrative: 

  • Approve job postings that have all of the required information
  • Data entry
  • Support supervisor with updating training materials and front desk processes
  • Monitor and inform supervisor when supplies are running low at front
  • Receive and distribute mail

Project Management: 

  • Work with area managers on projects for their areas such as social media
  • Assist with events including ISUB Open House, UIdaho Bound, Career Fair, etc.

Education and Development:  

  • Complete FERPA tutorial in VandalWeb (student records privacy)
  • Complete University of Idaho annual required training
  • Opportunity to take Professional Development and Learning (PDL) courses through the University of Idaho- examples of PDL training are communication essentials, productivity & time management, etc.

Analytical/Problem-Solving: 

  • Opportunity to review Career Services mission and vision to innovate and problem solve for better processes
