Locums Neuroendovascular Surgery Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
Job description
We are seeking a Physician Assistant (PA-C) or Nurse Practitioner (NP-C/AGACNP) with experience in neuroendovascular or neurosurgical care for a locum tenens assignment in Detroit, Michigan. This position supports a busy Level 1 Trauma Center with a Comprehensive Stroke designation, providing overnight in-house coverage in a hospital-based setting.
Position Details:
- Facility Type: Inpatient, Hospital-Based
- Trauma Level: Level 1 Trauma Center
- Stroke Center: Comprehensive Stroke Center
- Schedule:
- 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
- One weekend every 4 weeks required
Responsibilities:
- Provide overnight coverage for neuroendovascular surgical patients
- Perform rounding, consults, and post-operative care
- Collaborate with neurosurgery and neurointerventional teams
- Work with high-acuity patients in a fast-paced academic setting
- Manage 10 patients on average per shift
- Document using eCare/Cerner EMR
Requirements:
- Licensed PA or NP (AGACNP or FNP with neuro experience) in Michigan – Required
- National certification through AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA – Required
- Minimum of 2 years of inpatient neurosurgery or neurocritical care experience – Preferred
- Ability to manage high-acuity patients independently overnight
- Strong communication, clinical, and decision-making skills
