Fall 2025 Data Analytics & Reporting Research Assistant

Location: Remote

Duration: Mid-August – mid-December 2025

Time Commitment: 20 hours per week

Y Analytics

Y Analytics’ mission is to increase the amount and effectiveness of capital allocation for the greater good, as described in the UN SDGs, by increasing trust in the social and environmental impact achieved by that capital. Y Analytics was launched in parallel to The Rise Fund and founded in partnership with TPG/Rise to provide best in-class insights and tools that improve capital allocation decisions. Its rigorous approach to impact assessment and management draws on evidentiary academic and economic research, enabling greater use of evidence in capital allocation decision-making and impact valuation. In addition to conducting impact valuation for the TPG Rise Funds, Y Analytics is also responsible for managing responsible investing/sustainability across TPG. The team supports TPG and its portfolio companies by assessing and advising on value creation for sustainability performance, in addition to providing analytics and reporting on responsible investing matters.

 

Position

Y Analytics is seeking a research assistant/intern (RA) to work with our data analytics and reporting team. The RA will primarily support special sustainability analytics projects, including creating new dashboards, automating reporting processes, and other data-focused process/program improvements. The RA will also support TPG’s recurring firm-wide sustainability analytics and reporting initiatives, including emissions accounting, regulatory reporting, physical climate risk assessment, and LP engagement support. The position is open to current graduate students or advanced undergraduates.

 

Requirements

  • Graduate student or undergraduate student entering their final year or semester in fall 2025
  • Excellent data analytics skills, including facility with Microsoft Excel and preferably one or more other statistical tool(s) (e.g., VBA, Python, R, SQL)  
  • Advanced data visualization experience, including the use of one or more dashboarding tools (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau, Looker, Sigma, Streamlit)
  • Experience or demonstrated interest in responsible investing, corporate social responsibility, climate/sustainability, or a related field 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize workload with attention to detail, a sense of urgency, and a strong work ethic and dedication to consistently provide quality work  
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills, and fluency in English
