Director-Teaching and Learning-NW Network

Summary:

The Network Director of Teaching and Learning will be responsible for implementing the instructional framework and other instruction-related district initiatives at the school level. This position will work in partnership with the Assistant Superintendent of Schools and the Network Executive Director to guide the development and execution of a plan for implementation of the Strategic Plan. The Director of Teaching and Learning will collaborate regularly with cabinet sponsors, the Assistant Superintendent of Schools, Network Executive Director, school leaders (principals and assistant principals), and other departments of the Boulder Valley School District in order to align implementation across the system and monitor effectiveness of instruction and instructional-related initiatives. This position will report to the Network Executive Director.

 

Responsibilities: 

 

  • Guide school leaders and instructional staff to support the effective implementation of instructional infrastructure, instruction-related initiatives, and the Strategic Plan.
  • Collaborate regularly with Network leadership and the Strategic Support team to monitor progress toward implementing strategic plan initiatives and the achievement of student outcomes and ongoing district, school, and class-level data.
  • Collaborate with departments across Boulder Valley School District to design and implement systems, structures, professional learning, and instructional supports that align with the Strategic Plan.
  • Coach, provide feedback, and support to school leaders and TOSAs on curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices.
  • In partnership with the Professional Learning team and network Executive Directors, design, deliver, lead, and facilitate professional learning for school leaders based on strategic initiatives, school-based data, and instructional leadership characteristics.
  • Support strategic initiatives in school improvement, data analysis, and interpretation of data instructional practices, and the implementation of curriculum, instruction, and assessment in collaboration with school and district leaders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications: 

Required: 

 

  • Master's Degree in an education-related field or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a school or district leadership role
  • Minimum of five years of K-12 teaching experience
